The Hospital Where Maryam DiedContrary to the press release and other information about Mrs. Maryam Babangida's last few months, AgainstBabangida.com can reveal that her cancer was declared terminal in France and she had been given two months to live. Upon the determination, the Babangida family moved her to the United States in the hope she can be cured.

We also can reveal that she was treated at the City of Hope Medical Center, and not the University of California Los Angele’s (UCLA) Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Centre in Los Angeles.

One of the professionals who treated Mrs. Babangida, wrote: "She was treated at City of Hope hospital, just outside of Los Angeles, California. She came to us from France, where doctors thought her condidtion too terminal to treat and gave her two months to live. She lived for over six months under our care.

"The Babangida family were treated well, as are all of our patients.  They were accorded the respect we accord every patient, but we certainly realized their position.

"The family continually expressed their gratitude for Maryam's care, and appreciated the extra few months of life we were able to provide. She passed in peace and with dignity with her family by her side."

The City of Hope Medical Center is recognized worldwide for its compassionate patient care, innovative science and translational research, which rapidly turns laboratory breakthroughs into promising new therapies.

It is one of only 40 National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Centers in the US and a founding member of the National Comprehensive Cancer Network.
