Many of the pro-Babangida web site operators had launched persistent attacks against Againstbabangida.com in 2006, when it was thought nothing could stop IBB from becoming the president in 2007. A string of political misfortunes and miscalculations caused Babangida to slam the brakes on his political acceleration and shrink back into his shell in Minna. While the political ambition lasted, a lot of political carpetbaggers launched supportive activities on behalf of Babangida, but became heavy losers when he chickened out.
The site http://www.ibrahimbabangida.com/ was listed on ebay as item number 270263858283. The listing was pulled, apparently because the name Babangida no longer sells. The site is owned by an unknown Fada Ventures and registered with GoDaddy.com, possibly from Ireland. Created since 2003, the site is registered until 2015.
The faceless owners of the site called Babangida "Nigeria's Best President," with the obvious intention of making money from Babangida, who is known to generously give from stolen public funds to his supporters. Little did the pro-Babangida sites know that Babangida's presidential move would become stillborn.
Only recently, it was revealed that IBB's campaign materials, running into thousands of dollars, including cars, tricycles, bikes and gifts, were left to rot away at the Niger State government house when the campaign crash-landed soon after take-off.

Let's face it - we have all always suspected Ibrahim Babangida of being a drug dealer. The story of Gloria Okon, Dele Giwa's death, the burning of the Ministry of Defence and other stories are all allegedly tied to an official drug ring during IBB's regime. We researched the rumors, and this is what we found.
Nigeria's military dictatorship, led by General Ibrahim Babangida, annulled the Jun 12 presidential election and canceled plans to return the nation to civilian rule. 
Most Nigerian leaders have been corrupt, but Ibrahim Babangida added new, historic elements to corruption. One prime example is what he did with the defunct BCCI Bank. BCCI's activities in Nigeria were so profoundly, overwhelmingly corrupt as to suggest a very significant level of corruption in Nigerian officialdom generally.
